The Finnish LED tube manufacturer Valtavalo Oy is expanding its operations in Sweden. Valtavalo launched its Swedish operations in 2015. Since then Valtavalo has achieved considerable growth in Sweden. In 2017 Valtavalo will take further steps enabling further growth by establishing a branch in Sweden. The managing director of the branch office is Martin Persson, who has long-term experience from the lighting industry, including some previous experience at Valtavalo. Valtavalo’s country manager, Kim Zetterberg, will transfer to a new position at the beginning of September.
In 2017, the Swedish branch office will employ five people, including Persson. Headoffice and warehouse will be located in Gothenburg. Operations are expected to grow at a brisk pace in the coming years. Lars and Henrik Rundqvist from Nurpak AB, a successful Swedish distributor of Valtavalo products, will also transfer to Valtavalo in September.
In addition, Valtavalo is in the process of recruiting two key account managers to serve our customers. With these measures, Valtavalo is seeking to establish a solid position in the Swedish lighting market. The new, expanded organisation will take on the particular task of supporting selected strategic partners in their sales of Valtavalo’s products.
Seeking strong growth in Sweden is a natural next step for us. Sweden is close to us, and we already have a solid customer base there, as well as successful long-term cooperation with local operators”, says Markku Laatikainen, CEO of Valtavalo, explaining the motivation for the recent expansion.
Valtavalo manufactures LED tubes at its own production facilities in Finland. The company’s flagship is the G-series LED tube, with an extremely long service life, manufactured in Finland since 2012. The LED tube is particularly popular with industrial customers, and it has won several comparison studies. In the second half of 2016, a new, fully automated production line was built at the Kajaani production facilities for manufacturing the new E3 LED tube for professional use. The annual capacity is approximately two million LED tubes.
There is a significant interest from the market for Valtavalo and our long-lasting, high quality LED-lighting solutions offering exceptional lifetime value. Especially for new installations where our concept brings the benefit of a replaceable LED lightsource”, says Martin Persson, CEO of the Valtavalo branch in Sweden.
Valtavalo’s product range covers all the options required for replacing conventional fluorescent tubes in professional lighting systems. For new and renovated buildings, Valtavalo can deliver LED tubes together with a suitable luminaire. Valtavalo has luminaires for every professional use ranging from offices to agriculture or industry.
With a dedicated local organisation and logistic solution we will have the resources to accelerate our growth by offering a high level of support, knowledge and service to our partners and customers”, continues Persson.
