Finnish LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION is introducing a LED tube providing light that significantly reduces the amount of harmful microbes in indoor areas. LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION has made an agreement with Valtavalo for the manufacture of the G4 ANTiBAC AiRTUBE LED tubes.
Problems with microbes in Finland have reached the stage that premises must continually be cleaned of bacteria and mould. In the worst cases, premises have to be closed. This has been the case in many municipalities already. Our new product is designed to tackle this problem,” says LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION’s managing director, Mika Nummenpalo.
Microbes that have become immune to antibiotics already cause significant harm in hospitals and other parts of the healthcare system, for instance. Infections caused by resistant bacteria, such as MRSA and ESBL, increase the amount of deaths in medical facilities, and prolong the treatment periods for intensive care and hospitalisation in general. The new products that the company is introducing to the market are designed to promote wellbeing at work, and to create considerable savings in costs resulting from sickness.
LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION’s managing director, Mika Nummenpalo, has been part of the LED revolution in the lighting market from the very beginning. He understands the importance of cooperation in Finland for success in the sector.
We proposed our idea to Valtavalo, and arranged to meet them at their Kajaani factory. We were astounded by the advanced level of the technology they use there,” recalls Nummenpalo. “Their manufacturing systems are automated to an exceptional degree, and their product design and rigorous product testing are undoubtedly the best in the industry. These strengths will greatly help us in reaching and maintaining the high standards of quality that we have set for our product.”
The production of LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION’s ANTiBAC AiRTUBE LED tubes is due to begin at Valtavalo’s factory in Kajaani, in central Finland, in the third quarter of 2017.
It’s a great opportunity to be able to combine the skills of these two companies with the aim of reducing the negative impact of harmful microbes on health and budgets,” says Valtavalo CEO Markku Laatikainen.
LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION expects to see strong demand for the product far beyond the Finnish market.
The opportunities are immense,” Nummenpalo says confidently.
LED TAILOR INNOVA7ION was founded in 2014 in Salo, in Southwest Finland. The company specialises in the use of photon technology to create products that combat bacteria and mould, naturally and without the use of ultraviolet light. The company’s innovations also include light therapy products for the treatment of psoriasis and atopic skin symptoms. The company works to promote increased awareness of the usefulness of light in tackling bacteria, viruses and mould.
